Moustache is a fun, unique, qualitative, and modern vision of the e-bike.
Bosch System
This is one of the main points of both the system and the bike: the centralised BOSCH motor. It capitalises on changing gears, much like a car with a manual transmission. The speed at which the motor rotates is directly related to pedaling cadence, which means that if gear-changing is done intelligently, you can optimize consumption (as with a car). Also, it's cruising range is managed differently from other systems. Unlike hub motors, using a larger cog in climbs actually increases the available torque output. Performance does not decrease, which allows the system to maintain a high level of autonomy. In addition, the center of gravity is low, between the wheels. Riding feels much the same as on a regular bike, and users will find it easier to keep their balance. The last advantage, not to be overlooked, is the fact that you can remove or change the wheels easily, just like with a regular bike.
The battery: lightweight (2.4 or 2.6kg) and full of energy (300Wh or 400Wh), it’s also safe and reliable: Bosc
h know-how at its best. Positioned on the rack or the frame, the battery is safely bolted in place. It can be removed for easy charging at home…and in only 2.5 hours for a complete charge! If you’re pressed for time, you’ll only need 1.5 hours for an 80% charge. Bosch guarantees that your battery will still have at least 70% of its original capacity after 2 years or 500 complete cycle charges. This is the second key ingredient to the pedal assist system.
The HMI display, or user interface, is the command centre for your bike. It has 4 different assistance modes (eco, tour, sport and speed) that allow each rider to adjust the system so that it is suitable to his or her needs and riding style. Once you’ve selected your assistance mode, which lets you adapt the power output to the road, your physical condition, or both…riding becomes child’s play! At a glance, you’ll find all useful riding data such as speed, average speed, daily distance, total distance and especially real-time information on how much battery is left depending on road and usage conditions! A real plus to help you manage the pedal assistance for each ride. Once you arrive at your destination, the display can be easily removed and slipped into your pocket. Without it, the pedal assistance mechanism does not function…
Gears
There's a choice of regular derailleur gears or the revolutionary NuVinci continuously variable transmission. This unique system offers continuous, gear-free shifting that’s seamless and has a 360% ratio range. Tough and maintenance-free, it’s the ideal partner for the Bosch motor. Test it yourself to discover how intuitive and incredibly comfortable it is!
